I have always known that pets can be helpful to people with their health and wellbeing, but I never gave much thought to animals needing healing themselves for their own general health. As part of training as a healer we learn through the Code of Conduct what legal requirements there are when giving healing to animals, though we never did contact healing with animals on the course itself.
For several years as a qualified healer I did not specifically work with animals, but when a friend suggested that my healing abilities helped her dog (photograph below – animal reading lessons not included!) I began to explore this work further. Last year I watched an excellent DVD by Magrit Coates on healing dogs, cats, horses, and rabbits. I then read Rupert Sheldrake’s book Dogs That Know When Their Owners Are Coming Home, a fascinating read and investigation into dogs and their owners and telepathy, psychic or sixth sense. I also am a fairly regular listener to JoAnne Good’s weekly Barking at the Moon show on BBC London 94.9 fm and am learning a lot from their discussions about dogs, their behaviour, different ways they can be helped and all the helpful organisations out there looking after animals.
In March this year I was fortunate to take Elizabeth Whiter’s one day course in Animal Healing at the College of Psychic Studies, and it was wonderful to see in practice how the different dogs we worked with became more relaxed during the healing session, and a sense of calm and vitality were very present. Since then I have given a healing session to a friend’s dog and can vouch that relaxation certainly took place.
Distant healing can also be sent to animals and one example I know of is a friend’s cat abroad who has recently received distant healing from people in the UK and the cat’s health showing signs of improvement. Some people simply send healing without any imagery whilst others ‘tune in’ and get a picture of the animal and what healing my be needed.
If you are interested in distant healing or a contact session for your dog or cat let me know and we can discuss this.
